SUMMARY
On October 14, 2015 the Director of Public Works received 1 sealed bid for the "LED Message Boards at the Chula Vista Police Department" project. The work includes adding two (2) LED message board displays and replacing two (2) static display signs with Police Badges. The message displays would be mounted on the existing pillars in the front courtyard of the Chula Vista Police Department located at 315 Fourth Avenue.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The Project qualifies for a Class 1 Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines.

DISCUSSION
In an effort to provide dynamic, impactful messages to the public regarding important public safety issues, events and other City information, the Police Department has worked with the Public Works Department on adding two LED message displays on the corner of 4th and F Street. These LED message displays will provide high resolution, full color displays capable of displaying both video and static messages. Because of the prominent location of the LED displays on the north-west corner of the Police Department property, high visibility of various informational messages and displays will enhance the Department's ability to effectively communicate with the public.
