SUMMARY
In partnership with the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), the Chula Vista Library has joined with other libraries across the State in the Veterans Connect @ the Library initiative. This project is designed to help veterans by creating a Veteran Resource Center at the Civic Center Library. The Veteran Resource Center provides information on state and federal education, employment, housing, health, disability and other benefits that may be available to veterans and their families. The California State Library provides funding to establish the Veteran Resource Center, as well as resources to train staff, volunteers, and also provide programs. The Library has received $2,550 for this purpose.

The Director of Development Services has reviewed the proposed activity for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that the activity is not a "Project" as defined under Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to Section 15060(c)(3) of the state CEQA Guidelines, the activity is not subject to CEQA. Thus no environmental review is required.
