SUMMARY
In accordance with the emergency provisions of Section 1009 of the City Charter, City staff contracted the services of Arrieta Construction, Inc. (General Engineering Contractor License No. 259145) for the repair of failed storm drain facilities located at Brandywine Avenue & Sequoia Street. An informational item was submitted on May 16, 2013 (Attachment 1) indicating that staff would report back to City Council after the full cost of the emergency repair project was identified. Repair work was completed on July 30, 2013. This report presents the total expenditures for the emergency repair work.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The Development Services Director has reviewed the proposed project for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that the project qualifies for a Class 1 categorical exemption pursuant to Section 15301(c) (Existing Facility) of the State CEQA Guidelines because it involves maintenance and repair of an existing street. Thus, no further environmental review is necessary.
