SUMMARY
Currently, the duties of the Finance Director, as described in the City Charter are performed by Deputy City Manager, Maria Kachadoorian. In addition to acting as the Director for the Finance Department, the Deputy City Manager also oversees the Public Works Department, Development Services Department, Economic Development and Office of Communications. As the City continues to make progress in several high profile and complex projects it is necessary to ensure that the City's management of day to day finances receive the attention necessary to keep the City on track towards long-term financial resiliency. It is staff's recommendation to reorganize four positions in the Finance Department to ensure continued success in the overall management of the City's finances including debt management, annual financial reporting, operating budget, investments, cash management, revenue and recovery, master fee updates, cost allocation plan, long-term financial planning and other respo...
