After extensive research and careful analysis, the Police Department wishes to enter into a contract with the Motorola Solutions, Inc. for the PremierOne Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Mobile, with PremierOne Jail hardware, software and services solution.

DISCUSSION

The Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is a critical Information and Technology (IT) component, which serves as the lynchpin of the 911 emergency service framework for the police department. CAD is critical because it is used to dispatch police officers to citizens' calls for service, and its efficiency and performance directly impact response times and officer safety. In 2015 the police department processed 97,632 calls for service in the CAD system. The department's CAD system is also the central repository for all records and data related to calls for service. It is a key performance measurement tool used by supervisors and managers to make important tactical and strategic decisions.
