SUMMARY
The Bayshore Bikeway Canvases of Creativity Mural Project (mural project) proposes the design and curation of a community mural on an almost 1,000 foot long blank wall surface that runs along a segment of the Bayshore Bikeway (located between L Street and Palomar Street). The City of Chula Vista spends thousands of dollars annually cleaning up graffiti along this portion of the Bayshore Bikeway. The grant request from the County Neighborhood Reinvestment Program (NRP) would fund part of the anticipated costs of the public art mural project with the remaining portion funded from a variety of in-kind donations.
